The V&A Waterfront has opened its R180m extension after 10 months of renovation.
The renovations include adding a third lower level and a parking entrance to the complex, and now houses over 450 retail outlets, 80 eateries, five undercover parking garages and four open parking areas.
Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre has also been named as the greenest shopping centre in the country. Some of its environmental features include the use of grey water and low potable water consumption.
New retailers are expected to move in soon, while tenants will be expected to comply with the shopping centre’s Green Lease, which tracks a tenant’s energy and water consumption, and also incentivises recycling.
A second phase is still under construction. Internal fittings are expected to be complete by November.
